Caitlin Clark Texas Stalker Has Been Arrested and Charged
A very scary development involving the WNBA’s biggest star is finally being seriously addressed. The 22-year-old has been harassed with a barrage of messages from a 55-year-old man. Police had approached the man about his attempts of getting in contact with Clark, but he only continued his predatory actions. Fortunately, this Caitlin Clark Texas stalker has now been arrested and charged.
On Monday, it was revealed that Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark, has repeatedly dealt with threats and sexually violent messages. Thanks to police records the Clark stalker has been identified as Michael Lewis, of Denton, Texas. He has been charged with a Level 5 felony after he was arrested at a hotel in Indianapolis. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning. Lewis had utilized a social media platform in order to try and get Caitlin’s attention. According to ESPN,
“The FBI tracked the IP addresses of Lewis’ recent messages to a hotel in downtown Indianapolis as well as the Indianapolis Public Library. Indianapolis police then made a welfare check on Lewis, according to court documents, and he told officers that he was in ‘an imaginary relationship’ with Clark and that he came to Indianapolis on vacation.
Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears said the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department first spoke to Lewis on Wednesday about his alleged messages to Clark on X, formerly known as Twitter, from Dec. 16 through Jan. 2.”
Nonetheless, to get an idea of the kind of messages Clark was being sent; here are just a few examples below. These messages were pulled and ascertained from public court documents:
“Been driving around your house 3x a day. But don’t call the law just yet, the publc is allowed to drive by gainbridge..aka Caitlin’s Fieldhouse.”
“I’m getting tickets. I’m sitting behind the bench.”
“They said I was sending threatening texts..but the only thought on my mind was….CAITLIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNN.”
Receiving such frequent and disturbing communications has left Clark feeling fearful while out in public. And while just traveling around the country for her profession. Regarding her feelings, prosecutors wrote in the Marion County Superior Court filing, “[these posts have] actually caused Caitlin Clark to feel terrorized, frightened, intimidated, or threatened.”

Social media has allowed the public to reach out to stars, celebrities and athletes in an unprecedented fashion. With a comment, DM or post; fans can attempt to connect and begin some sort of dialogue. While in some instances this can lead to nice exchanges; at the same time, it opens up a dangerous avenue for some individuals to harass and in some cases become obsessed with a particular subject.
However, Caitlin has always been a class act, willing to do everything in her power to make her fans feel appreciated. Still, she also deserves to feel safe. For this reason prosecutors are currently moving to ban Lewis from Hinkle Fieldhouse and Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Fever play at both arenas. Additionally, Michael Lewis could face up to six years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
