Caitlin Clark Excited to Enter 2024 WNBA Draft
She’s leaving her college days behind. But, the memories are nothing short of historic. The legendary Caitlin Clark is excited to enter the 2024 WNBA Draft; but she’s still taking a moment to reflect on how far she’s come; and what she has accomplished.
Clark took to social media to announce her entrance into the draft. She also had some thank you’s and thoughts for her fans. Caitlin states,
“While this season is far from over and we have a lot more goals to achieve, it will be my last one at Iowa. I am excited to be entering the 2024 WNBA Draft.
It is impossible to fully express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me during my time at lowa – my teammates, who made the last four years the best; my coaches, trainers, and staff who always let me be me; Hawkeye fans who filled Carver every night; and everyone who came out to support us across the country, especially the young kids.
Most importantly, none of this would have been possible without my family and friends who have been by my side through it all.
Because of all of you, my dreams came true.”

Clark will most definitely have a major impact on the WNBA. Especially, when it comes to TV viewership. Caitlin has helped to really bring the fans “to the yard” with her three point milkshake. Case in point, her final regular season game.
ESPN reports that the game shattered broadcasting records; especially, when it comes to college and women’s sports. ESPN reveals,
Caitlin Clark’s record-setting game for Iowa against Ohio State on Sunday attracted more than 4 million television viewers at its peak and was the most watched women’s regular-season basketball game since 1999, Fox Sports announced Tuesday.
Average viewership was 3.39 million and reached a high of 4.42 million late in the second half. Clark set the record with two free throws just before halftime. No women’s regular-season game on any network had more viewers since 3.88 million tuned in for UConn-Tennessee in January 1999, according to Sports Media Watch.
The game was the second-most watched college basketball game of the season, trailing only the 5.18 million who saw the Michigan State-Arizona men’s game that followed an NFL Thanksgiving game on Fox, SMW said.
Ohio State-Iowa surpassed the 3.01 million who watched the Boston Celtics’ 140-88 rout of the Golden State Warriors on ABC on Sunday.”
Caitlin Clark Will Enter WNBA Draft in 2024
Of course, it helped that Caitlin was setting a record in college that has stood for over 50 years. Clark scored 35 points and passed Pete Maravich as the NCAA Division I overall career scoring leader during the Hawkeyes’ 93-83 win.
However, Caitlin will have a chance at making her mark in professional basketball. With the excitement that’s surrounding her; we’re sure the hype will continue in the WNBA. Plus, the WNBA ratings are steadily only rising anyway. Last year, “the league confirmed it had scored its most-watched regular season in 21 years, with combined viewership across ABC, CBS, ESPN and ESPN2 up 21 per cent over the 2022 campaign.”
Therefore, bringing another star into the mix will only help to grow the brand. This is an exciting time for women’s basketball. And with Caitlin and others coming into the league it’s only going to get better!
