Buffalo Bills Fire Offensive Coordinator Ken Dorsey

Buffalo Bills Fire Offensive Coordinator Ken Dorsey-The Reason Why

When you’re trying to build a championship team, usually “stability” is an element within the formula. Consistency for not only the front office, but also the players can help to build trust in the overall plan for team success. However, for the Bills, they are once again undergoing some changes. The latest? The Buffalo Bills Fire Offensive Coordinator Ken Dorsey; after the wild finish against the Denver Broncos in Week 10.

Losing a game by a field goal is tough. However, losing a game by a field goal that the opposing team is able to attempt twice, because you have twelve guys on the field; is even more deflating. Therefore, it is not really a surprise to anyone to see heads rolling in the Buffalo franchise. Hence, the announcement of Dorsey’s departure.

Nevertheless, the one who is giving Ken Dorsey the boot though, is Head Coach Sean McDermott. Sean has been helming things since 2017 for the Bills. However, McDermott makes it extremely clear to the press that the decision to fire Ken Dorsey was made “by me and me alone.”

Yet, there’s still the question of why and what? Why are they firing the guy? Also, what will things look like for the Bills in the future?

Buffalo Bills Fire Offensive Coordinator Ken Dorsey-The Reason Why

Alaina Getzenberg, a Buffalo Bills reporter for ESPN; is able to gather a little additional intel into the sudden firing of Ken Dorsey. Getzenberg reveals,

“Change has come. After one season and 10 games, Ken Dorsey’s time as OC is over. The Bills have made the moves official, announcing that Ken Dorsey was relieved of his duties and Joe Brady will serve as interim offensive coordinator. Josh Allen will now have the third offensive coordinator of his NFL career and second in the last two seasons after four years with Brian Daboll.

Before Ken Dorsey was fired this morning, he was one of four remaining offensive playcallers in the booth during games. Joe Brady has experience working on the sideline and in the booth. He’s been on the sideline as QB coach with the Bills last two seasons.

Sean McDermott on firing Ken Dorsey: ‘Just felt like it was time for a change.’ [Also] said that they need to have a confident offensive football team and to find consistent production. McDermott said that they are still working through who will be QB coach and logistics on where Joe Brady will be calling plays, etc.”
