Buck Showalter on Max Scherzer Brewers Blowout

Buck Showalter on Max Scherzer Brewers Blowout- Still Confident in His Guy

When you have an ace on the field you never think about experiencing an extreme tough loss. However, this is exactly the realm the Mets are living in right now. Their stud pitcher had an unusual outing leading to an unprecedented Buck Showalter on Max Scherzer Brewers Blowout presser.

Moreover, with this loss, so many questions begin to pop up when it comes to the Mets. Will they make the playoffs? Are they in trouble since their lineup is not batting that well?

However, the fact remains that there is no need to panic. The season is young and players are still getting into a rhythm. This is the attitude Mets manager, Buck Showalter not only has for his team, but his all star pitcher, Max Scherzer.

Showalter makes it clear to the press that Max is still stellar; but is experiencing what any stud pitcher experiences… an off day. In regards to Scherzer, Showalter states,

“He had pretty good stuff, just a couple of pitches he didn’t get where he normally gets them and paid for it. He’s human. It all gets magnified because we’re not scoring any runs.

That’s been the thing that’s caught my eye right now more than anything. Max, I’m not too concerned about that.”

Nevertheless, what about the rest of the team? It’s one thing for your pitcher to have an “off” day; but you definitely can’t win a professional baseball game without run support. Once more, Showalter is still of confidence and faith.

Despite a blowout game (10-0) versus the Brewers; regarding his team Buck says,

“It’s a well-seasoned group. That’s gonna be something that will work its way out. I’ve got a lot of confidence.

We’re 6 games into the season, got a lot of guys with a good track record that will continue to do that. Everybody is looking forward to getting home and getting settled. Such a routine the season is; and we haven’t really been able to get into that mode. But nobody wants to hear that.”

Showalter has every reason to believe that all the pieces of the puzzle will come together for his team. Last season, the Mets won over 100 games during the regular season and made the playoffs. Therefore, will lightning strike twice for the Mets? If Buck Showalter’s confident attitude is any indication, it will.
