It is kind of hard to picture Harper as anything other than a Phillie. He fits on the team and within the organization like a glove. Fans adore him, and he absolutely loves the fans. However, there’s an interesting Bryce Harper Phillies story that comes directly from one of Bryce’s own friends, Bryson Stott.
In a nutshell, Stott didn’t see Harper in Philadelphia. Say what?? Yep, it’s true.
Stott thought his best friend was going to be going to Chicago. Playing as a White Sox, for a good chunk of his Major League Baseball days. Fortunately, for Phillies fans, Harper made a different call. However, Stott and a few others in his circle, back in the day; originally foresaw a alternative future.

NBC sports anchor, John Clark, gathered the intel surrounding this story. Clark reveals what Stott mentions about his past thoughts on Harper. Stott states,
“Me and two of our other friends that we’re really close with, we kicked Bryce out of the group message and were predicting where we thought he might land. I think everybody was wrong. He loves it here.
I wish I did a little more research myself, and I think I might have been able to pinpoint something that sticks out to him. He’s a big family guy, as you guys know, and he treats the City of Philadelphia like his own family. I think they treat him the same way.
That’s a big thing for him and, like I said, he loves it here. If I knew the City of Philadelphia when I was making my prediction, I think that knowing how big of a family guy he is, I think this was a no-brainer.”
Hey Stott, don’t be so hard on yourself. When it comes to free agency, most of everyone else’s predictions are not quite accurate either Lol. However, it is easy to see that Bryce Harper is a perfect addition to Philadelphia; and that the right choice was made. It’s fun to watch Stott and Harper playing together, and here’s to more years of seeing this dynamic pairing.
