Bruce Bochy Discusses American League Lineup for 2024 All-Star Game
He is a manager coming off a World Series win; so of course it makes perfect sense for him to have a chance to lead a roster to glory during All Star Week. On Monday, Bruce Bochy discussed the American League lineup for the 2024 All-Star Game and some of his goals.
So then besides winning, what is the four time WS champion manager hoping to do? In a press interview Bochy states that his goal is to get everyone involved. Give everyone a chance to get their shine and some spotlight for all of their hard work to earn their way into such a high profile game.
Moreover, he stresses how important it is to get guys back to their respective teams safe and healthy. Over the years there’s been some negative feelings towards All Star Week. With some fans preferring for their stars to rest instead of play. Why? In order to give a ball club a good chance to make a nice second half of the season run and successfully get into the playoffs.
Therefore, Bruce wanted fans to know it is of utmost importance to him for players to have fun. Enjoy the experience and put on a nice show for fans. But do so without injury or incident.

Furthermore, in the presser Bochy mentions this is his fifth time having the honor of managing this fun game full of the league’s biggest stars. Fortunately, he has not had to deal with any “divas.” He says in all his years working the All Star Game there has never been any guys not willing to play in any position he puts them in to try to win the ASG.
