Blue Jays Defeat Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 of 2025 World Series
Los Angeles’ offense faltered and Toronto took full advantage. After a GRUELING game 3, both teams had to return back to the field less than 24 hours later for Game 4. Both ball clubs had battled late into the night for 18 innings before the Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman finally blasted a homer to centerfield undoing the tie. But Toronto came right back the following day and dominated. On Tuesday evening the Blue Jays defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 of the 2025 World Series. The series is now knotted at 2-2.
What went wrong for LA’s men in blue? Well, their pitching did not remain as resilient as it has been during this postseason. Plus, their bats seem to go cold. The Dodgers only managed to put two runs up on the scoreboard, scoring in the first inning and the 9th. And it would not be enough.
Toronto was another story. They were firing on all cylinders. Losing an excruciating Game 3 in 18 innings did not carry over to Game 4 for the Blue Jays. Vladdy hit a dinger in the third, his 7th of the postseason. While teammate Bo Bichette also got in on all the fun hitting for a RBI single which capped off a 4-run 7th inning. In the end the Blue Jays would win 6-2.
Afterwards Ernie Clement told the media that losing an 18 inning matchup had zero effect on the team. He says, “I think a normal team would have folded today. And we’re not normal. I think we’re the best team in baseball.”

As one can see, Game 5 is looking to be yet another intense thriller. Can the Dodgers pull off a win and get closer to the repeat? Something Major League Baseball fans have not seen in 25 years. When the New York Yankees repeated in 2000 (NY won from 1998-2000; interestingly Blue Jays repeated in 1992-1993).
Or will Toronto play spoiler? The Blue Jays feel they have the team to best the Dodger juggernaut that includes the likes of Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Shohei Ohtani. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. expressed, “I believe in this team. This team is so special!” Well, tonight Vladdy and the Blue Jays get another chance to show just how special they are this year.
