Bill Belichick To Be Permanent Guest On ManningCast
Three years ago, Peyton and Eli Manning joined up to form the ManningCast. It’s an alternate way to watch Monday Night Football on ESPN. On Friday Peyton Manning announced on “The Pat McAfee Show” that Bill Belichick is to be a permanent guest on ManningCast.
So it appears that Belichick is committed to embracing a role as a member of the media. Quite shocking considering he always appeared uncomfortable talking to the media when he coached the New England Patriots.
However, it’s good news for football fans because he will likely be telling stories and explaining things about the game of football. Belichick joined Pat McAfee earlier this year on McAfee’s NFL draft show. Therefore, it makes sense that being on the ManningCast is the next logical step in immersing himself in the media.
Belichick is likely to be on every episode. According to Peyton, “That’s the idea, that Bill is going to be a permanent guest on every ‘ManningCast’ show early in the game, probably the first quarter,” Manning explained, “to kind of take people behind the ropes as to what this defense has to do or what the quarterback’s challenges are.”
The show is scheduled for 10 games during the season and likely one wild-card playoff game. Football fans get your notepads ready because Belichick will be dropping knowledge. Listening to one of the greatest football defensive minds will no doubt be eye-opening. However, if for some reason Belichick can’t think of anything to say then Peyton made this suggestion:
“If you ever run out of things to say, just make fun of Eli.” Lol, that’s good advice, especially since Eli ruined two Super Bowls for the former head coach.

It certainly seems like Belichick is turning over a new leaf. Making appearances on the NFL Draft, the Tom Brady roast, and now the ManningCast are probably not events any of us had on our bingo cards. So is he trading in his grumpy old man persona for a more likeable, witty, and charming character? If so, I’m looking forward to watching the transformation unfold.
One more nugget regarding Belichick is that rumors are swirling around that he has plans to write a book. However, what the book will be about has not been revealed. It’s not likely that he would do a tell-all book filled with juicy gossip. But stranger things have happened. At any rate, I can’t wait for Monday Night Football to get started.
