Beyoncé Performed At Halftime; Texans Dominated By The Ravens
It was a rough game for the Houston Texans last week as they lost to the Chiefs and lost Tank Dell. Now they had to face the super-charged Baltimore Ravens but at least they were at home. But the home-field advantage was of no use to them. And even though Texas native Beyoncé performed at halftime; the Texans were dominated by the Ravens. From start to finish it was all about Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson. Jackson became the all-time leading rusher among quarterbacks in NFL history. Surpassing the prolific Michael Vick, breaking his record in 41 fewer games (143 to 102).
The Ravens got off to a fast start with Derrick Henry carrying the load. However, after getting sacked, Lamar Jackson ripped off a 25-yard run. Henry then capped off the drive with a two-yard touchdown run. Houston looked out of sorts and CJ Stroud was sacked for an 11 yard loss so they punted on their first possession. Henry had a nice 20-yard run but the Texans shut down the run and the passing game so the Texans had to kick a 52-yard field goal.
After trading punts the Houston Texans scored a safety as they forced Henry to run backwards into the end zone. But the Texans’ offense still was out of sync and turned the ball over on downs. Jackson found Isaiah Likely in the end zone for a nine yard touchdown. Each team punted again and the Texans ran out the clock to end the half 17-2. That was the first time that score ever happened in NFL history. Beyoncé then performed songs from her hit album for the first time ever during halftime. It was a country theme with a lot of winter wonderland designs with appearances from Shaboozey and Post Malone.

Things did not improve for the Texans as they opened the third quarter. Stroud continued to be off on his passes, missing throws that he would normally make. He attempted a deep pass to Xavier Hutchinson but was intercepted by Kyle Hamilton. And the Ravens took full advantage of the turnover. After a 12 yard yard run by Henry, Jackson scrambled around and then ran the ball 48 yards for the touchdown. Houston punted and then the Ravens scored again, when Jackson found Mark Andrews wide open in the end zone.
That was the last score of the game as both teams punted in the fourth quarter. So with the 31-2 victory, the Ravens are now back on top of the AFC North division. The Texans already clinched the AFC South but they are going to have to get some things fixed.
