Baltimore Ravens Get Their Big Tackle Ronnie Stanley Re-Signed

He was destined to be a hot commodity on the free agent market. And because the Baltimore Ravens were aware of that and understood the assignment they were able to get their big tackle Ronnie Staley re-signed. Having played his entire nine-year career in Baltimore, certainly Stanley is happy to be staying. The Ravens are re-signing LT Ronnie Stanley to a three-year, $60 million deal, per ESPN Insider Adam Schefter.

Stanley played at a Pro Bowl level in 2024 which is why so many teams were interested him. One interested party was the Kansas City Chiefs. But many New England Patriots fans were hoping to pick up Stanley as well. They are looking to get some protection for their burgeoning quarterback Drake Maye.  But in spite of the hopes of outsiders, Ravens General Manager Eric DeCosta was determined to keep Stanley.

At the NFL Combine last month DeCosta expressed his optimism. “You never want to say 100%, but I feel good that we’ll have a good, healthy debate, a good process,” DeCosta said. “We’re going to meet with Kim in Indy this week and I’m optimistic that we’ll be able to get a deal done.” Even Head Coach John Harbaugh believed that they would be able to keep Stanley. “I think that we’ll probably keep Ronnie,” Harbaugh said. “I’m hopeful that we will.”

And now that the two parties have agreed to terms their optimism was not misplaced. Stanley was the No. 6-overall pick in 2016 and became one of the top left tackles in the NFL. However he did have some injury issues between 2020-2023 as he suffered a major ankle injury, then dealt with knee injuries. However, in 2024 he played and started every game for the first time in his career and returned to Pro Bowl form.

Lamar Jackson has to be glad to know that Stanley will continue to have his back protecting his blindside. With Stanley locked down, Roger Rosengarten can remain at right tackle after a strong rookie season. Also Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum will be returning to hold down the middle. Patrick Mekari was the starting left guard last season but is set to become a free agent. So his position will likely be addressed in the draft.

However, with Stanley back in the fold that’s one position they won’t have to worry about. So Ravens fans you can relax because the “Guru” is back!
