Baltimore Ravens and Kyle Hamilton Agree to Four-Year $100.4 Million Extension; Largest for a Safety in NFL History
Baltimore negotiated with absolutely no drama. They had a player who needed to get paid for his efforts as well as undeniable talent and a deal got done. On Wednesday it was confirmed that the Baltimore Ravens and Kyle Hamilton have agreed to a four-year $100.4 million extension which is the largest for a safety in NFL history.
Kyle is certainly worth every penny. He has emerged as one of the NFL’s best safeties since arriving in Baltimore as a first round pick in 2022. And he’s lived up to first round expectations.
Hamilton has made the Pro Bowl in back-to-back seasons and was a first-team All-Pro in 2023 when he tallied 81 tackles, 13 pass deflections and four interceptions. Furthermore, just last season, the Ravens moved Hamilton into the box safety to start the season, which led to his tackle numbers jumping to 107 on the year. Due to such production, the Ravens wanted to lock Hamilton in for a few seasons to come.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter posted early Wednesday about Hamilton and some of the additional contract decisions that Baltimore has made. Schefter states,
“All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton and the Baltimore Ravens reached agreement today on a four-year, $100.4 million extension, the largest for a safety in NFL history. The deal, negotiated by Kyle McCarthy and Brian Murphy of Athletes First, includes $82 million guaranteed – which surpasses the previous record of $45M for a Safety.
Ravens new deals this offseason with their own players:
Kyle Hamilton: 4-years, $100.4M
Derrick Henry: 2-years, $30M
Ronnie Stanley: 3-years, $60M
Rashod Bateman: 3-years, $36.75MLamar Jackson and Tyler Linderbaum also are candidates for new deals.”

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta during a mid-week press conference also discussed the Hamilton contract extension. DeCosta mentions,
“I think the deal speaks to how we feel about Kyle — highest paid safety in the NFL. That’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly. We’ve had a few players over the years become the highest paid at their position, and I think when you’re the highest paid, that’s an important distinction. And I think Kyle’s proven he’s going to carry that very well, and we expect him to continue to be an impact player on our defense for years to come.”
The Ravens obviously like what they are seeing from their core players on both sides of the ball. And they are demonstrating their commitment and confidence in their guys with these deals. Now the team can continue to work towards their ultimate goal… win a Super Bowl championship. Baltimore’s last title win was in 2013.
