Things are going well. The partnership is working out. So both parties are willing to continue to make athletic wear magic together. It was confirmed on Wednesday that NBA Star Anthony Edwards has signed a multiyear contract extension with Adidas.
Fan Duel and The Athletic’s Shams Charania broke the news about the extension. He mentions,
“Minnesota Timberwolves All-NBA star Anthony Edwards has signed a multiyear contract extension with Adidas that sources say reaches eight figures annually. Significant new deal cements Edwards as a face of Adidas.”
Moreover, in a press release, Anthony was clearly thrilled to be going into the next “phase” of his Adidas tenure. He states,
“Adidas and I are creating history together. They’ve believed in me from the start and we have a shared vision for the future – which is why this relationship is so special to me. The launch of AE 1 was just the beginning. The world won’t want to miss what’s next. Believe That.”

Furthermore, Eric Wise, the global general manager of Adidas Basketball also adds why the brand wanted to continue with Edwards. Wise reveals,

This extended partnership signifies our unwavering belief in his ability to lead and inspire. Together, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in basketball, both on the court and in our communities.”
As one can see, Edwards talent and charisma is certainly paying dividends. He has an AE-1 shoe line with Adidas that’s been extremely popular ever since it launched. Additionally, he’s gaining fans with his interview humor, that infectious grin, and of course, his play on the court.
Edwards averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game for the Timberwolves this year. Plus, he also finished seventh in the MVP voting, made his second All-Star team, and was named second team All-NBA. With those credentials it is no surprise that Adidas wants him as a “face” of their brand.
