Another NFL Team Has Revealed New Uniforms
The New York Jets and the Detroit Lions showed off their new uniforms last week. Now today another NFL Team has revealed their new uniforms. The Denver Broncos unveiled their new “Mile High Collection” uniforms. 1997 was the last time the Broncos unveiled new uniforms so there is much excitement in the Mile High city regarding the new collection. In 1977 the Broncos made their first Super Bowl appearance and the new uniforms are throwback to that era. It was the “Orange Crush” of that period that had a lot to do with the team’s success. Therefore, the collection is in their honor as well.
For all the people not born in the 20th century, the “Orange Crush” was a nickname for the Broncos’ defense. It was derived from their orange jerseys and the soft drink, Orange Crush. Linebackers Tom Jackson and Hall of Famer Randy Gradishar were two of its premier members. Other contributors to the Orange Crush were Lyle Alzado, Rubin Carter, Barney Chavous, and Steve Foley. Woody Paige, sportswriter and ESPN Around the Horn guest, is credited with popularizing the nickname.
Inspiration for the new uniforms comes from Denver’s proud tradition, Colorado’s landscape and Broncos Country. Per the team’s website, the Mile High Collection includes nine primary uniform combinations. They feature elements of the Rocky Mountain region and the Broncos’ existing logo and colors. The Sunset Orange (home), Summit White (away) and Midnight Navy (alternate) jerseys will be paired with interchangeable pants in all three colors.
Creating the new uniforms was a collaborative process two years in the making which included surveying more than 10,000 fans. Owner & CEO Greg Penner, the Broncos’ football leadership and multiple players also provided their feedback throughout the design process.

Regarding the collaboration, President Damani Leech said, “This has been a thoughtful, collaborative journey. That’s involved us listening to voices throughout all of Broncos Country to design the Mile High Collection. Our modern and inspirational new uniforms for the Denver Broncos. We’re grateful for the engagement and creativity of ownership, the players, our business and football leadership, Nike and especially the best fans in the NFL during this process.”
He further added: “As we honor the championship tradition of the Broncos, we’re also committed to innovation and growth. During such a transformative time in franchise history. Our new uniforms — the Mile High Collection — boldly integrate elements of our past, present and future while paying tribute to Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region we proudly call home.”
It sounds like the Broncos are looking to turn over a new leaf. Enjoy the new unis Broncos fans.
