Alex Morgan Reacts to Being Left Off USWNT Olympic Team Roster

All good things have to eventually come to an end. Which is hard, especially when fans get used to seeing their favorite athlete constantly in the mix. However, this morning it was confirmed that one of soccer’s most prolific players will not be participating in this year’s summer games. Alex Morgan reacts to being left off the USWNT Olympic Team roster heading to Paris.

A real shocker to some who felt Morgan might come along at least to bring her past experience to the table. The San Diego Wave FC forward helped Team USA win a gold medal in 2012; and bronze in 2020. With Morgan now being on the outside looking in; this means Alex will miss a major tournament for the first time since 2008.

Nevertheless, Morgan’s response to the news of the USWNT’s roster being released was very positive and professional. To fans everywhere Alex writes,

“Today, I’m disappointed about not having the opportunity to represent our country on the Olympic stage. This will always be a tournament that is close to my heart and I take immense pride any time I put on the crest.

In less than a month, I look forward to supporting this team and cheering them on alongside the rest of our country. LFG.”
