Aaron Rodgers Achilles Injury: Wants to Return to Playing ASAP

How’s the Aaron Rodgers Achilles injury going? Better than expected. In fact, there’s some rumblings that Aaron wants back into action pronto.

How quickly is Aaron supposedly shooting for? Well, if you’re looking at the calendar, we are just past Thanksgiving (so end of November); and Rodgers goal is the beginning of December. Therefore, he’s thinking a matter of days.

Nevertheless, is he ready? Is he rushing his 40 year old body from properly healing? Also, is the Jets team in agreement with Aaron’s assessment of himself?

Sports commentator and host, Jay Glaser had all the details in his latest report. Jay reveals that Aaron Rodgers is wanting to begin practicing as early as Dec 2nd. Apparently the recovering quarterback sent his team the Jets; a workout video this week that “Blew their minds.” During the “Inside Scoop” segment of FOX NFL Sunday, Glaser also claims that if the team is still in the playoff picture (a long shot), Rodgers might actually return.

Moreover, NFL reporter, Ari Meirov backs up Rodgers strong will and desire to play this season. Since apparently, the Jets are also already impressed by Aaron’s current level of recovery. Meirov reveals,

Jets QB Aaron Rodgers sent a video to the team this week of him working out, and it ‘blew their minds.’ He has told them he wants to start practicing as early as December 2nd.

While this Achilles injury report is promising and very good to hear. No one should hold their breath. Saying he’s good to go is one thing; it actually being true is another.

This is an injury that takes time. It can literally take months even if it’s “not that bad.” Therefore, while Rodgers’ determination is admirable, it can not speed up true healing. Additionally, in order to play Aaron would need not only the backing and blessing of the NY Jets, but most importantly his doctors. Rich Eisen sums it up best,

“Any doctors that would medically clear a 39-year old just 3 months removed from achilles tendon surgery behind this Jets protection might get their license revoked.”

ESPN’s Rich Cimini also confirms how important doctor approval is for the Jets. Rich reports,

“Boyle remains the QB1, but Rodgers is back with the team on a full-time basis as The Decision looms.

Aaron Rodgers is in the building, but no update from Saleh with regard to potential practice. Saleh says when they get “a doctor’s note” that Rodgers is cleared, then he will practice.”
