Someone call the men in blue, we need to report a robbery! It is one of the most anticipated matchups of the season and it is not disappointing one little bit! Two teams, multiple future Hall of Fame players all duking it out without mercy. And just when you think you’re going to get to come up for air and just leisurely watch the drama unfold; Aaron Judge robs Ohtani of a home run in a catch that can only make you go, “WOW.”
Aaron Judge is MVP for a reason. He is a force within the Yankees organization on both sides of the ball. Last season, his offense got more shine and for good reason. That tends to happen when you break a record that is over 60 years old.
During the 2022 season, Judge entered his Hercules era and hit 62 home runs. An American League record held previously by the great Roger Maris who hit 61 home runs in 1961. Maris had taken the crown from the iconic Babe Ruth who hit 60 homers back in 1927.
Nevertheless, Aaron’s defense can not be ignored either. Judge hustles, powers through and lays outs for plays on the daily. This is exactly is what Judge did during game 2 of the Yankees series versus the Los Angeles Angels.

In game one, the Yanks fell to the Halos; however, the second round is more hard fought. It is a low scoring game that eventually ties at 2-2; but still a serious battle! Nevertheless, Ohtani comes to the plate not even perturbed to be facing Aaron or the Yankees.
Shohei Ohtani is MVP caliber himself. He is the modern day Great Bambino. He’ll give you whiplash as he strikes you out and cause baseballs to scream in pain as he blasts them to oblivion out of the park. Already this season Shohei hit 4 homers with 11 RBIs.
Today, should have been his fifth. However, Aaron decided to commit thievery. Early in the game Ohtani straight CRUSHES a ball towards center field, and it looks GONE. Long gone. Judge is running full speed like he’s Usain Bolt; and he jumps right at wall sticking his glove as far up towards the heavens as possible.
The ball touches the very fringes of his glove and begins rapidly falling towards the ground. He’s going to drop it after all!! Uhm… wrong.
Aaron juggles for what feels like an eternity as you’re intently watching on; but it is a mere half a second. The ball is suspended in the air and Judge finally secures it with his bare hand. The play is made and Aaron’s legend continues. ALL RISE!
