Altogether one time… A MINORRRRRRRR! One of music’s biggest artists now owns a really big record. Two days after the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, Roc Nation had the honor of revealing to the world that Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show is the most-watched ever in history.
This is a wild feat when you think about how many global superstars have performed during halftime. Means this show was bigger than Bruno Mars, Paul McCartney, Aerosmith, Britney Spears, Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Missy Elliott and Katy Perry. Larger than Beyonce, Shania Twain, Eminem, The Rolling Stones, Coldplay or U2.
Bigger than Prince. Bigger than… the King of Pop, MICHAEL JACKSON. And it’s not like any of the above artists named had shabby numbers. But Lamar still has edged them out.
According to Roc Nation, Kendrick Lamar’s halftime had 133.5 million people tuning in. A three percent increase and jump from last year. And an insane tally, especially when you think about how many actually watched the game itself. On Monday, FOX network reported that 126 million viewers had watched the Super Bowl. So Lamar was an additional draw that helped tick the numbers further upward.
But that 126 million viewers was also a record. So then, the NFL is currently enjoying seeing Super Bowl LIX become the most watched Super Bowl ever and its Apple Music halftime show being historical in viewership statistics as well. Therefore, the NFL is making serious bank because it has the eyes of the people.
As BR mentions, “The Super Bowl consistently draws the best television rating every year, and the NFL as a whole continues to grab the attention of Americans like no other entity. Forty-five of the top 100 most-watched programs in 2024 were NFL games.”

Interestingly, Lamar’s performance is even doing well online. We mean getting tons of engagement and exposure via social media channels and platforms. For instance, if you go on YouTube, the NFL has Usher’s halftime from last season in Vegas posted and have recently posted Kendrick’s show. After 11 months Usher’s video has garnered 32 million views.
How about Kendrick Lamar? Lamar hit 32 million views in a single day. Crazy. Kendrick is steadily giving new meaning to “They Not Like Us.” Or at least, not like him. Nevertheless, once more congratulations to the Eagles, congrats to the NFL and Kendrick Lamar. We already can’t wait till next season to do this all again.
