In the NBA there are not a lot of OG veterans left. So as time keeps ticking we must soak in every moment we get to witness their greatness on the court. For instance, recently Golden State’s dynamic superstar accomplished yet another elite feat. Curry has been a stealing machine throughout his career; and now the Warriors Steph Curry’s 1500 steals puts him in Kobe Bryant and Lebron James territory.

Before we get into the specifics in how all of this relates to Bryant and James. Let’s first review the GSW significance of Steph’s historic achievement. This means that in Warriors stealing history Curry has now beat out a lot of franchise talent. Including former teammate Klay Thompson, Chris Mullins, Draymond Green; Rick Barry, Purvis Short, Latrell Sprewell, Tim Hardaway, Sonny Parker and Monta Ellis. Everyone mentioned in the previous sentence make up the list of the Golden State Warriors all-time steals leaders from 1946 to 2024.

Even before hitting the big 1500, Curry quietly slid into the top spot. As of 2024, Stephen became the blue and gold player to hold the designation. Curry became the career steals leader of the Golden State Warriors having completed 1,473 steals for the team.

Through 20 games this season, Curry has averaged 23.0 points, 6.7 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.3 steals on 45/42/92 shooting from the field. To reach 1,500 steals as a guard who doesn’t really average more than two steals a game and has to score 25+ points a game is a massive accomplishment for Curry.

However, things tighten up and the number gets smaller when you include things like points as well as assists.
