Philadelphia Eagles Soared Over Los Angeles Rams Sunday Night
Entering Week 12 the Eagles were on a six-game winning streak. Whereas the Rams were 5-5 and had squeaked out a win against the Patriots last week. But the Rams have been unpredictable this season so anything could happen in the game. However, they kept their winning streak alive as the Philadelphia Eagles soared over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football.
On the Rams opening drive, Kyren Williams had the ball punched out of his hands. It was a clear fumble but he was ruled down by contact. Eagles coach Nick Sirianni had thrown the red challenge flag which initially hadn’t been seen by the officials. But things got sorted out, the call was reversed and the Eagles took possession of the ball. They converted the turnover into a 21-yard field goal. Matthew Stafford found his favorite target Puka Nacua on the Rams’ next drive with a couple of deep passes. Kyren Williams ran the ball in for the 1-yard touchdown.
Philadelphia’s defense didn’t allow the Rams to score any more points in the first half. Instead they forced them to punt four times. Saquon Barkley continued in his role as the heavy-lifter for the Eagles offense. In the first half he had 14 carries for 143 yards and a touchdown. Jalen Hurts also had a few nice runs of his own picking up first downs when he had no open receivers. The Eagles scored another field goal and a touchdown going into halftime leading 13-7.

Saquon Barkley opened the third quarter with a 70-yard touchdown run. After he dodged a couple of tackles it was wide open space for him to score. In contrast, Kyren Williams fumbled the ball on the Rams opening drive but they recovered it. Fumbling has been an issue for Williams this season. After that a huge defensive penalty was called against the Eagles to put the Rams on the three-yard line. Even the game announcers didn’t see anything worthy of the flag. And the Rams went on to score a touchdown cutting the Eagles lead down to 20-14. The Eagles answered right back with a touchdown drive during which Barkley had a 31 yard reception.
After the Eagles tacked on another field goal, Barkley ripped off another 70 yard touchdown run. That put him up to 255 rushing yards in the game a franchise record! In the end the Eagles’ defensive pressure on Matthew Stafford just disrupted his timing. And the Rams defense couldn’t contain the Eagles running game. This 37-20 victory has Philadelphia looking like a complete team and really dangerous right now.
