Coachella alum and the most decorated Grammy winner, Beyoncé is set to perform at halftime during NFL Christmas Gameday live on Netflix.

NFL Christmas Day games are always a big crowd draw. Most are home with their families. And don’t mind devoting a few hours to some football entertainment.

Moreover, the NFL throughout the years has aimed to have a nice mix of sports meets music acts during halftime. Not just Christmas Day but on Thanksgiving. Just to briefly go down memory lane, some past musicians and artists that have been apart of these festivities on either of these occasions as performers include: Jonas Brothers, Luke Combs, Pitbull, Destiny’s Child, Big Sean, Bebe Rexha, Enrique Iglesias, Mariah Carey and Dolly Parton.

Nevertheless, now Beyonce is once again bringing her talents to NFL audiences. She’s already done the Super Bowl twice. So she is very experienced at knowing what the people wish to see.

Furthermore, Beyonce is no stranger to Netflix either. The pair released one of the biggest music events together, when Beyonce headlined Coachella. According to the Grammys, “Beyond being the most tweeted about Coachella artist, Beyoncé’s performance became the most-viewed Coachella performance and most viewed live music festival on YouTube ever, with 458,000 simultaneous global viewers tuning in to see her Coachella set.

Moreover, Forbes also chimed in revealing, “On the film’s premiere date (April 17), [Beyonce’s] “Homecoming” (the concert film on Netflix) reached 1.1 million U.S. viewers and an average minute audience of 828,000 viewers on internet-connected TV devices, according to Nielsen’s SVOD Content Ratings system.”

So then, it is clear to see that Mrs. Carter has no problem getting an audience. And why Netflix is glad to have her on board. Netflix released a press release statement to reveal more details. They explain,

“Netflix announced that Beyoncé will take the field as the halftime performer during NFL Christmas Gameday, streaming live on Netflix on Wednesday, Dec. 25. The performance will take place during the second of Netflix’s two Christmas Day games, as the Houston Texans host the Baltimore Ravens at NRG Stadium at 4:30 p.m. EST.

In case you missed it, Netflix is the global home of the NFL’s two Christmas Day marquee games: The Super Bowl LVII–winning Kansas City Chiefs will face the Pittsburgh Steelers live on Netflix at 1 p.m. EST; then at 4:30 p.m. EST, the Baltimore Ravens will take on the Houston Texans.

With Netflix and Beyoncé, the NFL kicks off what is expected to be a new holiday tradition, as Netflix has also announced NFL games for 2025 and 2026. Produced by Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment and Jesse Collins Entertainment, this year’s halftime show will be the first live performance of songs from her genre-bending and record-breaking album Cowboy Carter. Of course, Beyoncé is no stranger to the NFL stage: She headlined Super Bowl XLVII in 2013 in New Orleans, joined onstage by fellow Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. The performance became the second most-watched Super Bowl halftime show in history at the time. And, at Super Bowl 50 in 2016, she joined Coldplay and Bruno Mars on the field for one of the most-watched Super Bowl halftime shows of all time, with 115.5 million households tuning in.”

What a legacy. However, what can be expected from Beyonce and her upcoming halftime performance? Well, of course her and her camp are being pretty tight lipped. But there will be special guests so be ready for plenty of surprises.
