Los Angeles Dodgers Have Won the 2024 World Series; Winning Their 8th Title

And the NY comeback has ended. Los Angeles jumped out to a three game lead in this series, and New York avoided the sweep, but they could not hold off the Dodgers’ destiny. The Los Angeles Dodgers have won the 2024 World Series; thus winning their 8th title. Let’s recap the final game!

In game 5, the Yankees got off to hot start. In the first inning Aaron Judge comes ALIVE. He hits a 2-run homer giving his team the lead. But hold up… wait a minute. Jazz Chisholm comes to the plate and handles some batting business as well. Jazz and Aaron end up going back-to-back with home runs. The scoreboard reads, 3-0, all Yanks.

However, New York would not stop there. Even when a ball club possesses the lead they always  want some assurance runs. And the Yankees start to add on in the second and third inning.

In the second, Anthony Volpe doubles on a line drive to left fielder Teoscar Hernández. Austin Wells grounds out, but this still allows Volpe to get to third. Alex Verdugo singles on a line drive to right fielder Mookie Betts and Anthony Volpe scores. It’s 4-0.

Moving to the third inning. It’s home run time, again! Giancarlo Stanton homers on a fly ball to right field, extending New York’s lead to 5-0.

However, the Dodgers refused not to FIGHT. In the fifth inning Enrique Hernandez, Tommy Edman and Will Smith load the bases. NY pitcher Gerrit Cole is in serious trouble. Gavin Lux steps up to bat and strikes out; but it is now Shohei Ohtani’s turn. Yet, Ohtani too strikes out.

But Mookie Betts would NOT allow the Dodgers to be shutout! Betts singles on a ground ball to first baseman Anthony Rizzo. Enrique Hernández scores; and Tommy Edman moves to 3rd, while Will Smith moves to 2nd.

Freddie Freeman is next up and of course, the moment is not too big. Freeman singles on a line drive to center fielder Aaron Judge. Tommy Edman and Will Smith both score and Mookie Betts gets to 3rd base.

Now at this point, Yankee fans in the stadium and at home are probably yelling at Aaron Boone to make a change; or at least provide a “visit” to the mound to give Cole a breather. But instead the damage would only get worse. To quote Thanos, the blue men are “inevitable.” Teoscar Hernández next doubles on a sharp fly ball to center fielder Aaron Judge allowing Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman to score. The game is now TIED.

The Dodgers would keep on battling until they grab their first lead of the game in the eighth. Being ahead 7-6 with six outs away from tasting a World Series victory. And they would get those final six outs!

Los Angeles wins another championship and adds to their iconic legacy. The Mickey jokes are now a thing of the past. And Shohei Ohtani in his first postseason is walking away with a ring.

While the team got through countless challenges such as injuries this season. And got past tough competitors like the Padres and Mets in the postseason. The Dodgers won this title through pure grit and determination. Congratulations to the men in blue. Make that champagne rain and enjoy your parade.
