One play. Several screams. It is an incident that was deemed too gruesome to even show on national television. The Nick Chubb injury made all that saw it audibly gasp and offer an instant ‘prayers up’ for the Browns’ electric running back.
Within minutes of the play that caused all this injurious commotion, Chubb was being attended to and helped off the field. Teammates and opponents looking on in concern. TV broadcasters in almost speechless disbelief.
Furthermore, immediately questions also form. What would become of the Browns? How long is Chubb going to be unavailable to his team?
Well, answers soon come. During a Sunday matchup against the Titans, the Browns prove that they can win and win big, even with the absence of dynamic Nick. The Browns able to come away in the game with the much needed “W;” ending things at a strong 27-3.

Nonetheless, when you witness an athlete bend in an ‘unnatural’ way, you immediately think the worst. However, Chubb’s injury is neither career ending or going to be as extensive as some thought. It’s a miracle!

Yes, Chubb’s brutal injury is starting to herald forth some positive news. Tests on the left knee including a MRI seem to indicate that Nick did not have a torn ACL. Instead it is the MCL (torn medial collateral ligament) only.
Additionally, only one ligament seems to be torn. This means that the injury, although savage to watch; is just not as bad as it appears. And will mean a lesser recovery time.
How quick? Well, Nick Chubb will be undergoing surgery in order to repair his knee. Additionally, it is a surgery that will be season ending; therefore, we will not watch taking any snaps during the rest of this 2023-2024 season. However, the franchise believes that their running back will be ready and good to go for spring training next year!
Final Thoughts
This is good news for Chubb as well as the Browns. The team will get their RB back in the lineup. And all will be well in Cleveland once again.
However, this once more underscores why running backs want more salary. Their job is tough, arduous, dangerous and thankless. When the lights go out on the field during their final game; backs are left with years of pain from taking constant hits. That alone should be worth something… shouldn’t it?
