Miami Dolphins Score 70 Points- Sets New Franchise Record
Reading about it is one thing, but actually witnessing it is another! If there was not any evidence you might think that this is just a tall tale; however, it is not. On this wild football Sunday, the Miami Dolphins score 70 points, completely humiliating the Denver Broncos.
Well… at least it is not a shutout. The Broncos put up somewhat of a fight. Denver during the game manages to garner 20 points, and in most other games that would be very respectable. Heck, a lot of teams win their Sunday battles with that amount of offense alone. Yet, today even if Denver had got on their ‘horses’ and put up three times that, they still wouldn’t win.
The Miami Dolphins displayed nothing but dominance as they racked up touchdown after touchdown. Their whopping 70 points is unbelievably not the most ever scored during a NFL game (you’d have to go all the back to the 60’s where the Washington Redskins played the New York Giants, with the score ending at 72-41); but it does set a new record for the Miami Dolphins franchise.

Furthermore, this new peak is not the only cool fun fact to come from this historic game. The dolphins gained a staggering 726 yards of offense! You would think that is another record in itself. But, actually this puts Miami in 2nd place in this regard, for back in 1951 the Rams devastated their opponent with 735 yards. Crazy!
Nevertheless, to get 726 yards you have to be really tossing that pig. And you would be right. Miami went into the end zone 10 times! Yes, ten touchdowns to get the big ‘W.’
However, Miami still keeps it classy. NFL reporter, Ari Meirov reveals,
“The Dolphins had a chance to kick a FG to set an NFL record for points scored in a game (72), but Mike McDaniel decided to kneel it out and end the game. The classy move. Dolphins finished with 70 points.”
Nice. Yet, there’s still one more thing to say about this insane game. There is a new record. Miami’s Tyreek Hill caught a 54-yard pass from Tua Tagovailoa and took it to the house.
This particular play bumps up Hill to 2,019 receiving yards in a Dolphins uniform. According to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington that’s the most receiving yards in NFL history by a player in his first 20 games with a new team. Sick!
This is poetry in motion 🤩
