The 2024 World Athletic Relays Results Are In
We’re getting closer to the 2024 Paris Olympics. And the road to that event is preceded by another. During May 4 – 5 the 2024 World Athletic Relays took place in the Bahamas and the results are in. The Relays event is the crucial Olympic qualifying event for the world’s top-performing athletes from more than 40 countries. Over 1600 athletes competed during the two day event. And this year west African countries performed very well and got track and field fans excited. Liberia, Ghana, and Nigeria all qualified for the Paris Olympics in the men’s 4 x 100m relay.
However, men and women competing for the United States also turned in stellar performances. The men’s 4 x 100m team was composed of Courtney Lindsey, Kenny Bednarek, Kyree King, and Noah Lyles. They earned the gold medal posting a time of 37.40 seconds. Just shy of the championship record of 37.38 set by the USA in 2015.
Whereas the U.S. women’s 4 x 100m team included Tamari Davis, Gabby Thomas, Celera Barnes and Melissa Jefferson. They also secured the gold medal for the relay. Clocking an impressive 41.85, surpassing the championship record of 41.88 set in 2014. They also prevailed by almost a second over runner-up France who clocked in at 42.75. It looks like team France is set to impress the home crowd at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

- Great Britain & Northern Ireland and USA – each qualified a full five teams for Paris
- France, Germany, Italy, Jamaica, Nigeria and Poland – qualified four each.
- Botswana’s 4x400m men ran a world lead of 2:59.11, winning the last race of the event
