Reports Indicate More Free Agents Are Being Signed
With free agents still remaining on the market it was a matter of time before the action picked up. Now reports indicate that more free agents are being signed. Adam Schefter posted on X that it appears the Carolina Panthers are going to sign Jadeveon Clowney. His is a two-year, $20 million deal that could be worth up to $24 million. He further reports that former Detroit Lion Josh Reynolds is expected to sign with the Denver Broncos. The two-year deal could be worth up to $14 million, per source. Adding to that Jeremy Fowler of ESPN confirmed that the Lions and Reynolds couldn’t agree to terms.
After the Kansas City Chiefs signed Chris Jones to a huge extension, there was no cap room left for Sneed. However, that turned out to be a good thing for Sneed and the Titans. NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported that former Kansas City Chief L’Jarius Sneed is signing with the Tennessee Titans. It’s a four-year contract for $76.4 million. The contract will make Sneed one of the highest paid cornerbacks in the league.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported that Tre’Davious White is signing with the Rams. The one-year $8.5 million deal could be worth up to $10 million max. White tore his Achilles tendon early last season and had to have surgery. In an interesting twist it was the Rams’ team doctor, Neal Attrache, who performed the surgery. He would be in a good position to know how White is healing and the Rams felt comfortable signing him. The seven year veteran cornerback can provide some help for the Rams’ secondary.

With the draft coming up next month many teams have turned their attention to college Pro Days. They are busy scouting their potential draft picks to see which college prospects can fill their needs. Once that is done they will look to shore up any deficiencies they still have with their rosters. So, any remaining free agents can expect to get phone calls after the draft. But the teams can multi-task, so they can still continue to sign free agents during this time.
And they likely will, because the NFL never stops.
