Xavier Worthy Breaks NFL Combine 40 Yard Dash Time!
We haven’t seen this happen since 2017. Yet, 7 years later we have another young hopeful displaying his need for speed. If you recall… John Ross made history putting up 4.22 during the 40 yard dash. However, the history books are being updated today; as Xavier Worthy breaks the NFL Combine 40 Yard Dash time!
To put this into perspective. Think of the fastest runner that you know. Did Usain Bolt come to mind? Well, if he did… guess what… Xavier Worthy is STILL faster. How do we know?
Well, Usain actually ran the 40 for kicks and giggles after John Ross set his record. To demonstrate his own insane speed, Bolt ran the 40 in front of a crowd during SBLIII.
Bleacher Report covered Bolt’s Super Bowl dash race, in which the Olympian was literally wearing sweats and They state,
Everybody knows Usain Bolt is fast. In fact, he’s the fastest human in recorded history, holding the record in the 100-meter dash (9.58 seconds) and 200-meter dash (19.19 seconds). He won eight Olympic gold medals in his career, establishing himself as the preeminent sprinting star before his 2017 retirement.
[Usain] reminded everyone on Saturday, when he tied the NFL record in the 40-yard dash while wearing sweats and sneakers.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver John Ross set the record in 2017, and while Bolt’s run is obviously unofficial, it’s impressive how casually he matched it. In his prime, Bolt likely would have smashed the record, though the Jamaican superstar was famous for his explosive speed in the middle and at the end of races.
Crazy. Also, as mentioned Bolt ran just for fun and not even in track shoes; so probably could smoke guys if he really wanted. Yet, this is still a great “marker” when it comes to showcasing the kind of speed some of these athletes possess.

Well John Ross and Usain Bolt can both step aside now and make room for Xavier Worthy. He ran the 40 yard dash in 4.21 seconds. Yes we’re talking hundredths of a second but when it comes to speed every fraction of a second counts.
And more importantly, Worthy received high praise from one of the best athletes ever born. Bo Jackson, the former baseball and football player had this to say on his X account. “Now that’s a great run. Congrats @xavierworthy on an impressive 40.” And we have to agree with him because, well,… Bo Knows.
