Paris 2024 Summer Olympics Destination – Bar Hemingway
Bonjour! It’s been a minute since we highlighted an attraction to visit in Paris during the Olympics. So without further ado the next Paris 2024 Summer Olympics Destination is – Bar Hemingway. And yes it is named after Ernest Hemingway, the world famous American adventurous novelist who became an Ex-Pat in France.
Located in the Ritz Hotel in Paris, Hemingway became a regular at the bar. He was frequently seen hanging out with his pals Francis Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald enjoying a cognac or a dry martini. In fact he was there so often that the bar name was changed from Le Petit Bar to Bar Hemingway.
Over the years Bar Hemingway has become a legend among cocktail experts. Currently Anne-Sophie Prestail is the bartender who will whip up a cocktail to suit your mood perfectly. Or you can give her your own inspiration for the perfect cocktail to make. Either way you’ll come away feeling like you have imbibed the spirit of Paris.
The bar only has 25 seats but the decor is all elegance and sophistication. On the walls are hand-written letters of Hemingway that reveal the story of his life. It’s a good place where you can chat with the bar maid and fellow patrons while absorbing the ambience. Enjoy sipping a signature cocktail while taking in the Hemingway memorabilia. But take your time because this experience is not to be rushed.
And for the ladies every drink is served with a rose. The bar is open everyday from 5:30pm to 3:00am and no reservations are required.

In case you don’t remember, Hemingway wrote A Farewell to Arms, For Whom the Bell Tolls, and the Old Man and the Sea just to name a few. He also won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954.
So then, after a day of yelling and screaming at one of the Olympic events Bar Hemingway is a perfect way to unwind. You can relive the action and adventures of the games with your buddies. Just like Hemingway you will have amazing stories to share with your friends and families when you return home. Who knows perhaps you will be inspired to write some stories of your own!
