If you are wanting to catch the Dodgers versus Padres Seoul Series you are going to need an alarm and a prayer to get up before the sun comes up. What’s the start time? If you reside on the west side, 3AM Pacific.
Eric Stephen of SB Nation, confirms all of our TV watching fears. Stephen reports,
“MLB game start times have been finalized.
Both Dodgers-Padres games in South Korea start at 3:05 a.m. PT.
Domestic opening day at Dodger Stadium vs. Cardinals is a 1:10 p.m. start on Thursday, March 28. End of that series is on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.”
If you don’t want to believe you really are going to have to defy the space time continuum in the name sports. Eric isn’t the only one solidifying the news. Dodgers beat writer, Bill Plunkett, also says the same about the Seoul series. He states,
“MLB officially announces start times for Dodgers v Padres in Korea March 20-21. Both games will start at 7 pm in Seoul, 3 am California. Set your alarm clocks.”
So then, fellow MLB enthusiasts … prepare early friends. Setup up your Keurig, buy bagels, sleep in your jersey. You are not going to want to miss any of the action in Seoul going down between the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Yes, it’s going to be a nice start to an amazing season of baseball. However, did you know that Seoul is not the only travel stop for the MLB during 2024? The tour is going to roll through 3 other regions as well. Regarding this and the Korea showdown, Major League Baseball reveals,
“Major League Baseball will take its MLB WORLD TOUR to four different countries; outside the United States and Canada throughout 2024.
The 2024 MLB championship season will begin with the first-ever regular season games in Korea. As the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres meet for two games in Seoul; South Korea on March 20-21, 2024.”
Sweet. Additionally, MLB Commissioner, Rob Mafred (via MLB.com); released a brief statement about these events as well. Manfred says,
“Recent efforts have produced strong enthusiasm around the globe. We look forward to building on that foundation with returns to Mexico City and London. While also opening the season in Korea for the first time.
In addition, we can’t wait to celebrate the tradition of the sport in the Dominican Republic. With our visit to Santo Domingo next March. We are thrilled that our fans outside the United States and Canada will have the opportunity to see the game’s stars.”
