2024 WNBA All Star Game: The All Stars Versus Team USA!
The 2024 WNBA All Star game started with a BANGER! Veteran player on Team USA, Diana Taurasi, knocks down a three in the first few seconds of the game. Definitely setting the tone. This was going to be WAR! By the time the first break occurred the score was 21-20 with Team USA barely ahead.
But that would soon change. Chicago’s Barbie would come on the court and let her playing do some talking. Angel Reese gives the WNBA its first lead with the offensive rebound and 2; putting Team USA on notice… this was not going to just be a walk in the park on the way to Paris.
However, the tide would turn. Team USA would take back the lead and keep it. In the second quarter the score remains TIGHT. But with 2:16 to go after a foul; the WNBA All Stars tie it up 48-48. But Team USA was not done. They take the lead and are able to hold on going into the half, 54-52.
The second half was CRAZY. The competition, energy and INTENSITY only goes up. Arike Ogunbowale continued to make a case for the game’s MVP (and Spoiler: she wins it); putting up 21 in the third quarter! Then it was Kelsey Mitchell with the dagger. Knocks down the final points of the quarter, putting the WNBA All Stars up 88-79.

Going into the fourth quarter, it was do or die for Team USA. The All Stars were not letting up off the pedal. Caitlin, Angel, Arike as well as the rest of the WNBA help give their team the biggest lead of the game. Bringing the score to 86-101.
With 2:48, legendary baller and coach Cheryl Miller calls a timeout. Her All Stars now lead Team USA 94-108. But she wants them to finish strong. She gives them a little more motivation and insights and turns them back loose on the court.
And they DO. Tacking on more making it 106-113. Angel Reese is fouled with 16 seconds to go. And she makes both free throws.
Team USA goes all out. Pulling out all the stops. But still comes up short. Your WNBA All Stars win it 109-117.
