2024 NBA All Star Game : East Versus West
As soon as the 2024 NBA All Star Game gets underway, it begins as an exhilarating, action packed WAR! The East got the first points on the board with Jayson Tatum knocking in a basket from the corner. But then, the West quickly answers back with Lebron James working, getting an opportunity to get in the mix; helping the West go up 7-3, then moments later 10-5.
However, the East says “Nah” and strikes right back with the Pacers Tyrese Haliburton going HAM! Haliburton puts on a show for the home crowd, starting the game going 5/5. In no time flat, Haliburton scores 15 points in just a couple minutes bringing the East to the lead 25-27.
Lebron James then wows the arena with a huge one handed dunk, tying the game 29-29. Steph Curry also gets on the board with yet another, you guessed it, three pointer. However, the East continues their rampage ending the first quarter 47-53.
During the TNT broadcast, Candace Parker, and the crew (Reggie Miller/Brian Anderson/ Allie LaForce) interview 2023 All Star MVP, Jayson Tatum. Tatum states that this year he has enjoyed being able to just share this All Star break with his teammate, family and son. Seeing his son now recognize some of the other star players and get to watch him at work has brought Jayson true joy. How awesome, and what a nice moment for Tatum.
Nevertheless, getting to the second quarter. The intensity only continues. The East continues their reign of domination going up 84-99. Curry and Jovic (who got his dunk in, nice going Nikola) put up a fight; however, the West still stay behind by 15. The halftime goes into the Jennifer Hudson performance with a score of 89-104.

Nonetheless, Damien Lillard made it clear he was vying for MVP. Going into the second half he had put up 22; leading all scorers at the break. Haliburton continued his own insane performance though, upping his scoring stats for the night.
However, Dame then says it’s GAME TIME by hitting a half court 3! Nothing-but-NET. Definitely the shot of the night; if we may say so ourselves.
Nevertheless, it’s a good thing the East team showed up; because by the second half; it seemed like the West were ready to call it day and go eat a 10 pack of Wingstop.
This is the aspect of the All Star Game that a lot fans hate and find beyond disappointing year after year. Oftentimes, there’s not much defense, so the score is unrealistically high. Or guys aren’t half playing, so one team can end up running away with the game; thus, making it not very competitive, or as exciting for some fans tuning in to watch. Case in point, with about 5 left in the 3rd, the score is 110-134, in favor of the East Team.
Moreover, the third quarter ends even uglier for the West Coast. As the East extends their lead by 24. Ending the quarter 136-160.
NBA All Star Game 2024
Well, to sum things up, the first half was a vibe. However, the second half… a different story. The All Star Game has changed over the years; therefore, it is hard to say what it could make it better from start to finish at this point.
Yet, we all have to remember this… when else will you get a chance to see so many great NBA players in one single game? For goodness sake this is Steph Curry’s 10th All Stars. Therefore, that aspect of this talent filled game will always reign supreme.
The All Star Game ends with Doc Rivers and the East winning while going over a whopping 200 points; annihilating 2016’s ASG record by the West of 196 points. And who’s the guy to do it? Mr. Haliburton.
The ending Score: 186-211. Congratulations to the East Team and to Damien Lillard for taking home the MVP honor.
