Shohei Ohtani World Baseball Classic

Shohei Ohtani World Baseball Classic: 420 Feet BOMB On One Knee!

How is the Shohei Ohtani World Baseball Classic highlights going? Well, if we had to put it in Michael Jordan GOAT terms… nothing but AIR! Ohtani has been a homerun KING, blasting balls like no one’s business.

The World Baseball Classic is finally here and is not disappointing. We the baseball starved are getting to “eat;” chewing on dynamic plays as well as finally getting the chance to gaze upon our faves outside of the confines of spring training. The event is fun and exciting, plus you get to root for other various countries. It’s good vibes, like the Olympics meets MLB.

Nevertheless, getting to see Ohtani in action is bringing a lot conversations back to the fore. The entire baseball world is talking about the record breaking contract that is coming Shohei’s direction after the upcoming 2023 season concludes. He can pitch. He can hit. And that deadly combination will make any team give up their arm, leg and bank account password for him.

Where will he land? There’s already some favorites currently salivating with brief cases as well as check books in hand; that all up in the team predictions mix. Teams such as the Dodgers, Mets, Padres, and the New York Yankees. The Yankees are not a surprise for anyone; since the organization reportedly made a very serious trade offer for Shohei Ohtani which in turn the Los Angeles Angels immediately shot down. Their interest is still high in placing Ohtani in the famous pinstripes; and only time will tell whether or not they get their wish.

However, it is going to take some serious benjamins to get Shohei to sign whether a team is on the west coast, east coast or somewhere in-between. The Angels, Mike Trout, received a humongous 12-year, 426.5 million deal to be a HALO. With Shohei being a dual talent superstar (great batter and pitcher); it is easy to see why Ohtani will clear way north of that number.

The Angels avoided arbitration with Ohtani for the 2023 season by solidifying a one year contract worth $30 million. So with 30 already being the base and minimum now, before free agency; $500 million and above starts to look like simple math. Basically, Ohtani is about to be introduced to the BAG.

Moreover, he is out here proving why he is worth it. During the World Baseball Classic Ohtani has been putting on a show. One homerun would have been a “told you so;” but multiple is just a batman sign in the sky to make it rain upon the man! While every homer is something to behold; there is one WBC homerun by Shohei that definitely takes the cake.

Can you hit a ball out of the park on one knee? No? Well, Ohtani can, and DID.

Shohei read the pitch perfectly and swung his perfect smooth swing. Bat connected, and BOO YAH… straight to center field! However, before Ohtani could complete his movements, he was already bent down on one knee.

Not quite amazing for you? Well, try this next stat out for size. Ohtani’s insane bomb travelled some 42o feet!

Not even perfect form, and still having the power to TKO a pitch to kingdom come. Amazing. Literally $500 million in talent amazing.
